Once you have flown, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward for there you have been, there you long to return-- Leonardo Da Vinci
Oh what an experience it is to fly. Flying over the ground, you feel the peace and ease of moving across the world. Once you have flown, creeping along on the ground is never the same. To me, flying is like success. Once you have been successful, settling for an ordinary life is simply not an option. But while you have your eyes skyward, keep your feet planted firmly on the ground and you will find success.--O

Thought of the Week 10/19-10/25
"Accept people and situations as they are in life and then take action. The moment you do this, you'll see you are out of the confusion about anything in life." -- Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
I needed this thought this week. We spend so much time trying to change people in our lives, instead of accepting them as the creatures that God made them. It is not our job to change the people in our lives, it is our job to love the ones we choose, and let go of the others that don't fit into our world. It seems like a simple concept, but it is one I struggle with. Have a great week!

A mid week Thought
A good friend sent this quote to me, and I had to share it.
"We begin to find and become ourselves when we notice how we are already found, already truly, entirely, wildly, messily marvelously who we were born to be." --Anne Lamott
This is real interesting. People go on these journeys to "find themselves", when in all actuality all of the ingredients of you are in the mirror! We have all these gifts, and because they are wild and messy, we can't see them. We want our talents to be neatly stacked on a shelf, patiently waiting for us to come in and decide to use them. The reality is that it doesn't work that way. Our gifts are hidden under all that mess that we call life. So take a breath, dig through the mess and marvel at what terrific talents you have today.

Thought of the Week 10/12-10/18
Everyday we should come up with a new concept. If not, it means that we did not put forth enough effort.-- Author Unknown
I took quite a bit from this weeks thought. As we advance in our lives, we should constantly be evolving our plan. By making a new concept daily, it makes the plan refresh, not allowing boredom to seep in and complacency to exist. We are also looking a new options to get us to our destination quickly. Take a moment and conceptualize today.--O

A Mid-Week Thought...
Author Robert Crisp told a story once about a mangy dog that he had when he was a boy. His dog used to fight all the other dogs in the neighborhood and beat them. The dog was scrawny and malnourished, but was beating all of these big proud dogs. The other kids would ask Bob how his dog would beat up the other dogs. It was simple, by the time the other dogs would get mad, the fight would be over... His Dog was always mad!
I pulled a lot from this story about preparation in life. If you are faced with critical situations in life, then you need to be a lot more prepared to make things happen. I replace mad with prepared. We have to stay hungry in life and prepared for every opportunity. By the time the next guy gets prepared, you will have already won, because you were prepared!

Thought of the Week 10/5-10/11
"In order to achieve our big goals in the future, we must first achieve our small daily goals. So why worry about tomorrow when there is so much work to do today?"-- Jasper Tong
This one smacked me right in the face this morning. I have so many big goals that I am shooting for in my life, that sometimes I get bogged down in those dreams so much that I forget the process. You do have to keep your eyes on the prize in life, but it is the daily actions that we take that pushes us further to that prize. Take a few of those baby steps daily, and you will be surprised how far you travel.

World Champion of Speaking Ed Hearn told a great story this weekend: "There was a frog that lived in a hole. He played and splashed in his space. One day he looked up and saw the sky and jumped out of his hole. He began to play in a mud puddle. He enjoyed the fresh air while he played. Then he looked and saw a river. He frollicked and played in the river, loving all of the water. The river led to an ocean. He couldn't believe all of the seemingly limitless water. As he swam in the ocean, a shool of fish swam by. They asked him where he had been all this time, and he replied, I didn't know all of this was here..."
In a lot of ways we are like the frog. Comfortable in our own little hole, but never really looking up to see the huge world that is around us. How about just peeking your head out of that hole in your life and realizing the ocean of opportunites that are floating around us. You might just be surprised what you find... :)
